Acrylic Dentures
Acrylic Dentures are ideal for patients who have lost or had most of their teeth extracted as the acrylic base sits in the ridges of the mouth. Small Sterling Silver clasps can be placed on existing teeth for extra retention. The benefits of an Acrylic Dentures is that they can be relined after time if they start to become loose.
They are also a cheaper alternative when compared to Cobalt Chrome Frameworks and if your patient is likely to lose more teeth in the future it is easier and more cost-effective to do tooth additions.
Valplast Dentures
Valplast Dentures are completely metal free and are ideal for small restoration where only 1-3 teeth need to be replaced. They are not recommended for larger restorations where they need to cover the palate as it can affect chewing experience, an alternative is to manufacture two unilateral valplast on each arch.
Furthermore, valplasts can not be relined or have tooth additions made once complete. The benefits of a Valplast Denture is that they are aesthetically pleasing, retentive and discreet.
Cobalt Chrome Framework
Cobalt Chrome Frameworks can be made thinner than other dentures, therefore patients find it easier to adapt to wearing them and find them more comfortable. They are extremely durable and are recommended for patients who have deep bites and very minimal occlusal space.
There are different options available when it comes to the clasping as we can provide either chrome clasps or pink / clear valplast clasp for patients who are concerned about aesthetics and do not want any metal showing. The retention that Cobalt Chrome Frameworks provide is excellent and the chrome clasps can be tightened at any point to ensure a tighter grip.
